Power In and Over Congress I feel the system is biased because there are inequalities among the representation and participation of interest groups and constituents in the political system. Unfortunately, poor and uneducated citizens aren’t as organized as interest groups, lobbyists and PACs because they lack the money, resources and connections necessary to influence congress members on legislative bills. It is evident that, â€Å"businesses, interest groups and labor unions are spending more than $100 million a month to lobby the federal government†(Associated Press, SFC, 3/7/98). â€Å"The actual population of interest groups in Washington surely reflects that there is a class bias in the membership of interest groups†(JBG). â€Å"Interest groups are organized bodies of individuals who share some political goals and try to influence public policy decisions. Representatives from interest groups are referred to as lobbyists† (JBG). â€Å"Lobbyist seek to bring about the passage or defeat of legislative bills and to influence congress, often using large sums of money in a variety of ways to influence legislative outcomes† (APD). I feel that lobbyists have a great deal of influence within congress because they may have direct connections with congress members in high positions. In order to reduce cost, Chevron dumped more than 18 billion gallons of poisonous waste into Amazon waterways during 1964 to 1990. These waste caused seriously environmental pollution to six indigenous groups in Amazon rainforest and at present, one of them is extinct and other five groups lost majority of their ancestral lands. Chevron also abandoned a large quantity of waste pits which are filled with noxious sludge that contain carcinogens like benzene and chromium VI to Amazon forest.In the past few decades, these toxic substances migrated into soils, groundwater and stream that are the main source of drinking water for local residents. The oil spilled out from more than 7 narrow fissures at the bottom of the sea. Finally, the oil leak was under control until the end of November but there was still some residual oil seeping from the crevices. At the same time, Chevron is working closely with park rangers, local farmers and international wildlife groups to preserve some endangered animals in the area, like hawk eagles, leopards and gibbons. William Shakespeare came from a large family and had three brothers and four sisters ... although not all of them lived long enough to meet their most famous sibling! John and Mary had two children before William Shakespeare was born. It is not possible to give the exact dates as birth certificates were not produced in those times. However, due to high mortality rates, it was customary to have the child baptised as soon as three days after the birth so the dates given in this article are based on that assumption. Sisters:Joan and MargaretShakespeare Joan Shakespeare was baptised in September 1558 but sadly died two months later, her sister Margaret was baptised on December 2nd 1562 she died aged one. Both were thought to have caught the prolific and deadly bubonic plague. Happily William, John and Mary’s first born son was born in 1564. As we know he lived a very successful life until he was 52 and died in April 1616 on his own birthday. Brother:Gilbert Shakespeare In 1566 Gilbert Shakespeare was born. It is thought that he was named after Gilbert Bradley who was a burgess of Stratford and was a Glover like John Shakespeare. It is believed that Gilbert would have attended school with William, being two years younger than him. Gilbert became a haberdasher and followed his brother to London. However, Gilbert often returned to Stratford and was involved in a lawsuit in the town. Gilbert never married and died a bachelor aged 46 in 1612. Sister:Joan Shakespeare Joan Shakespeare was born in 1569 (It was customary in Elizabethan England for children to be named after their dead siblings). She married a hatter called William Hart. She had four children but only two survived, they were called William and Michael. William, who was born in 1600, became an actor like his uncle. He never married but it is thought he had an illegitimate child called Charles Hart who became a famous actor of the time. William Shakespeare gave permission for Joan to live in the western   house on Henley street (There were two houses) until her death at the ripe age of 77. Sister: Anne Shakespeare Anne Shakespeare was born in 1571 she was the sixth child of John and Mary but sadly she only survived until she was eight years old. It is thought that she also died of the bubonic plague. She was given and expensive funeral despite the family experiencing financial problems at the time. She was buried on April 4th 1579. Brother:Richard Shakespeare Richard Shakespeare was baptised on March 11th 1574. Little is known about his life but the families fortunes were in decline and as a result it is very likely that Richard did not receive an education like his brothers and he would have stayed home to help with the family business. Richard was buried on February 4th 1613. He died aged 39. Brother: Edmund Shakespeare Edmund Shakespeare was baptized in 1581, he was sixteen years William’s junior. By this time the Shakespeare’s fortunes had recovered. Edmund followed in his brother’s footsteps and moved to London to become an actor. He died aged 27 and his death is also attributed to the bubonic plague which had already claimed 3 of his sibling’s lives. William paid for Edmund’s funeral which was held in Southwark London 1607 and was attended by many famous actors from the Globe. After having eight children Mary, Shakespeare’s mother lived to the grand age of 71 and died in 1608. John Shakespeare, William’s father also lived a long life, dying in 1601 aged 70. Only their daughter Joan lived a longer life than them dying at 77.

One of the most important elements to achieving success is In order to succeed, one of the most important element is achievement refers to active involvement in your learning. A very important aspect of a Active learning is the ability to reflect on your work and see whether you are I’m answering the questions properly. When reflecting on my work, I need to consider, how to be responsible I feel for my own learning, how good Ito identify, setting achievable goals and how to be as well as being an active learner. I believe I definitely need to work on all of these to improve in all my assignment set. One way I can start of by reflecting upon what I am learning is by first, understanding how I learn. For example, I prefer to learn through listening and by noticing the type of learner I am would determine my motivation towards my studies. thus I can plan my studies based on this. Finally due to your current performance level and development changes, would you make for the next 4 semesters of your course? I have discovered that I need to make changes in regards to my time management. This is because I find myself procrastinating regularly, for example, leaving assignments to the last minute. I have noticed that this does not help as it means that my work is submitted late and not much effort goes into my assignments. To deal with this I have realised that I need to create sub goals, which are easier to complete, in order to get my assignments done earlier. One way in which I would need to developmake changes in, is by finding myself sometimes procrastinating regularly, when leaving assignment to the last minute, really doesn’t help in situations like things when submitting work late or not putting that much effort into your assignments. But I’ve identified that because I don’t chunk assignments into smaller bits and create sub goals, it doesn’t allow me to finish on time, but since procrastinating really leads to failure, things has to change through out the rest of the next semesters. Question: Discuss the possible presenting symptoms after a hard knock on the leg in the area behind the knee. Answer: Injury can occur in any phase of humans life. There could be many types of injury, one of which is a vascular injury which causes bleeding in the popliteal vein or artery. This results in hematoma causing immense pain in the injured area (Fuller 2013). The injury could be in the places like nerve, muscle, soft tissue, ligaments, and veins (Sutton 2016). A knee is defined as a joint which is situated between the shin bone and thigh bone. The function of the knee is to allow flexibility for the movement of the bones. A hard knock in the leg, especially behind the knees, could be much painful. The area where the hard knock occurs is known as the popliteal fossa and the nerves found in this area are called as popliteal nerve (Sata et al., 2014).These nerves are mainly responsible for sensation and strength in the motor regions when these nerves travel from the lower leg to the foot. An injury to the popliteal nerve results in tingling effect, numbness.pain and weakness in the foot, ankle and lower leg. At times, hematoma causes the compression of the nerves.there is another nerve called peroneal nerve which wraps around the fibula and further breaks into the deep and superficial peroneal nerves. They are responsible for providing sensation to the skin which is present at the base of the foot. Along with this, there are many other possible symptoms associated with this hard knock. The primary symptom of this knock could be swelling, worn out ligaments in the area surrounding the knock, sprain, fractures and partial or complete damage to the synovial membrane. These symptoms call for immediate treatment. Otherwise, they would result in major problems. Swelling is the situation, where the blood is released in the affected area and gets accumulated in the injured body part (Fleming et al., 2015). This is a visible symptom as they occur immediately after the injury to body part. Then is the case of worn out ligaments in the area. Ligaments are defined as the soft tissue s, which maintain the flexibility of joints. If the ligament is injured, then it causes major pain to the person. Fractures may be said as the combination of damage to ligaments and swelling. The beaking of bone is along with the hard tissues is termed as the fracture. The pain of the fracture is uncontrollable and it could tale at least 15 days to 1 month for the patient to recover from it depending upon the nature of the fracture. A sprain is the other type of symptoms associated with the knock. Sprains are the result of coagulation of blood and acids in the affected area, and it causes fatigue in the leg. Thus, it is seen that humans are prone to injuries. These injuries could happen anytime and anywhere. The knee is a very important area of the human body because the mobility of the joints depends on it. A hard knock in the knee area could result in many symptoms.
